Disney Believe Features Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Moana, and Tinker Bell
The Disney Destiny raised the bar for cruise ship sterns with Spider-Man and his web filigree. The Disney Believe may have raised it even higher. Your mileage may vary.
Disney Cruise Line ships have always featured 3D characters on their sterns. The Destiny was the first to stray from the traditional Disney lineup, bringing Marvel to the exterior.
The Disney Believe is also venturing outside that traditional Disney universe, this time with Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Pixar’s Toy Story.

Disney shared concept art of the duo, who are using crayons to color in the ship’s name and gold filigree. Gone is the cruise line’s usual script font, replaced by bold block letters that feel much more at home in the Toy Story universe.
In addition to the artwork, Disney displayed miniature, unpainted models of the pair at the D23 Imagineering pavilion. Buzz is hanging from a rocket stuck to the hull, while Woody is reaching through a life preserver.

On the other end of the ship, Tinker Bell gets the filigree treatment on the bow. This marks the first time Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse hasn’t received that honor.

Finally, Disney revealed that Moana will greet guests in the Believe’s Grand Hall. Her bronze statue will be joined by Pua and Heihei and will be surrounded by design elements inspired by the Polynesian cultures represented in her films.

Like Buzz and Woody, Moana also got the miniature treatment at D23. Imagineers displayed a model of the young wayfinder along with her animal friends.

The Disney Believe sets sail in 2027.
