Disney Accelerator Demo Day Highlights Haddy’s 3D Printing Innovations
Haddy, an AI-powered 3D-printing company, captured everyone’s attention at Disney’s 2025 Accelerator Demo Day on November 5. Their technology allows designers to create everything from shoebox-sized models to full-sized buses quickly and affordably. That tech could benefit Imagineers, providing them with new tools to build ride sets, themed lands, and even furniture for resorts and cruise ships.
Since 2014, the Disney Accelerator has paired growth-stage startups with Disney mentors to explore innovations in AI, immersive media, robotics, and more. Think of it as a creator lab.
Michael Hundgen, Portfolio Executive Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, explained that Haddy’s 3D printing can streamline the production of complex attraction set pieces. The technology not only speeds up building but also lets Imagineers experiment more freely, since temporary creations can later be melted down and reused.
Hundgen shared real-world examples of how Haddy’s products could benefit Imagineers. He specifically highlighted the doors coming to the new Monstropolis roller coaster and the rock work needed in several upcoming themed lands. More practical applications include furniture in Disney’s resort hotels and in cruise cabins.

With numerous theme park projects and new Disney Cruise ships on the horizon, Haddy looks set to play a major role in Disney’s future. “The opportunities are endless for Haddy,” confirmed Kyle Laughlin, SVP at Imagineering. While I’m a little nostalgic for hands-on sculpting, there’s no denying the possibilities these tools bring for Imagineers.
