D23 Ending Disney twenty-three Magazine
D23 is saying goodbye to Disney twenty-three, the magazine that long anchored the fan club experience. After dropping print issues earlier this year – while still allowing members to buy hard copies for $9.99 each – Disney announced that all versions are coming to an end after the publication of the Winter 2025 issue:
“Starting January 1, 2026, you’ll … notice a few refinements to our D23 Membership Terms and plan structure designed to better support how our fans engage today. Key changes to the Membership Terms include … discontinuation of the printed and digital publications in all membership plans to prioritize other Member benefits and experiences like the D23 Gold Theater On Demand and D23 On The Road.”
Let’s be honest. D23 Gold Theater and D23 On The Road aren’t viable replacements for twenty-three. The former has a growing library of content, but the latter is a series of paid events in a limited number of locations.
The magazine, on the other hand, was a draw. A staple since 2009, it was so beautiful (and so well-made) that Disney shipped each issue in a protective cardboard box to keep it from getting damaged. They knew exactly how much members cherished those deliveries.
Even without the magazine, the D23 Gold Member Premium Items might still be worth the price of admission. This year’s items included a replica of the Disneyland entrance plaque and a hardcover copy of The Happiest Place on Earth, written by Disney Legend Don Hahn and former Disney Imagineer Christopher Merritt.

Next year’s haul looks just as impressive. These D23-exclusive items will be available to both Gold Choice and Gold Complete Members. Choice members can pick one, while Complete members will receive all four:

Losing Disney twenty-three is undeniably a gut punch. The magazine was more than a perk; it was a piece of Disney magic. But even without it, a D23 Gold Membership still holds value. Between the premium collectible items and access to members-only events, there’s enough there to keep most fans engaged.
