Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis Join Carousel of Progress

Remember when we paid tribute to the Carousel of Progress on the day it closed for a lengthy renovation in June? In that article, we came up with a list of actors we’d like to hear when the ride comes back online.

Well, we got one of them right. And I’m kicking myself for not thinking of the other.

First, the father will be played by Bryan Cranston. I think Aahs n Oohs was the first to float his name when we were brainstorming, and I was immediately on board. His voice is perfect for the role. He even makes those Ford commercials sound good.

But he might want to channel Malcolm in the Middle’s Hal rather than Walter White from Breaking Bad when recording his lines. Who are we kidding? I’d love to hear the new John utter, “Say my name.”

Jamie Lee Curtis will play the family’s mother. Another brilliant choice that seems pretty obvious in hindsight.

In addition to revealing the cast, Disney shared concept art from the attraction’s new Halloween night scene set in 1985. Curtis’ mom Audio-Animatronic will be front and center in the kitchen, while Cranston’s dad will be handing out candy on the porch.

The reimagined Carousel of Progress is set to open in late spring 2027.
