Beak and Barrel’s Virtual Queue Is Disney’s Blueprint for Future Openings

Disney’s second attempt at launching Beak and Barrel reservations went far more smoothly than the first. This time, they introduced a virtual queue, which kept the servers stable despite overwhelming demand.

Just as importantly, Disney shifted the reservation window to 7 PM. That change solved two problems at once: we all got to sleep in, and guests booking vacation dining could do so without competing against the Beak and Barrel crowd. Hopefully, those guests were able to reserve all of their favorites at 6 AM this morning.

Reservations remained available for a while, but every table was gone eventually. Some guests still walked away empty-handed, but this time, it was because of supply and demand, not server crashes. Overall, tonight’s rollout was a huge success. I hope Disney uses it as the blueprint for future restaurant launches.
