2027 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Gains a Week as Flower & Garden Shrinks

Walt Disney World has announced dates for EPCOT’s first two festivals of 2027. The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will gain an extra week next year. Unfortunately for topiary fans, that time is coming at the expense of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

The 2027 Festival of the Arts runs from January 15 through March 1. The 2026 festival ended on February 23.

Disney isn’t extending the overall festival calendar, however. Flower & Garden runs from March 10 through May 31, 2027, after beginning on March 4 in 2026.

We don’t mind that Festival of the Arts is getting extended. Its unique vibe needs more love. We’re less thrilled that it’s coming at the expense of Flower & Garden. If any EPCOT festival needs to be abbreviated, it’s Food & Wine. But I digress.

Lorcana returns to Festival of the Arts

Disney Lorcana TCG is returning to Festival of the Arts in 2027, this time as the event’s sponsor. I’ve been watching the Lorcana craze from afar, and I still can’t get over the crowds it draws at Disney Springs, Disneyland, and elsewhere.

Things should be a little calmer at EPCOT. Here’s how Disney describes the offerings:

“Calling all Illumineers! Disney Lorcana TCG returns to the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in 2027 with exclusive festival offerings, including promo items and gifts with purchase available only at the event. You can also enjoy the return of fan-favorite experiences like the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt, the Collection Quest, and the Illumineer’s Lounge, making this year’s festival a must-visit for Disney Lorcana fans.”

The Disney on Broadway Concert Series will also return to the America Gardens Theatre, along with 19 Food Studios, artists, musicians, and, of course, the Chalk Art Galleries.

Flower & Garden

For us, the biggest draw of Flower & Garden is the topiaries. Last year, several people noted that some of the creations hadn’t fully grown in by opening day. In particular, Monsters, Inc.’s Sulley looked a little lean. Maybe that extra week in the greenhouse will produce some fuller figures when the festival begins.

Along with its plant displays, Flower & Garden will once again feature the Garden Rocks Concert Series and plenty of Outdoor Kitchens.

The 2027 Festival of the Arts runs from January 15 through March 1. Flower & Garden takes place from March 10 through May 31, 2027.
