Universal Kids Resort Sign Installed in Frisco, Texas
The Universal Kids Resort sign was installed at the Frisco, Texas, theme park this morning. Universal Creative nailed this one. The lines for this photo op are going to be long.
The sign sits in the middle of a large blue circle in front of the hotel. Behind it, the park’s entry breezeway frames views of Gabby’s Dollhouse’s Isle of Curiosity and Illumination’s Minions Vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club. There’s going to be plenty of photo spots around the park, but this is going to be the one.

Universal scooped me by sharing the completed sign on social media before I could hit publish. Unlike my pics, their photos show a completed sign. I guess this means I’ll be going back at some point…

Update: I went back later that day and was able to snap pics of the completed sign. And a few of Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express in action.

We first spotted the letters staged in the laydown yard earlier this week. The lot still includes pieces for much larger signs. Those include the full Universal Kids Resort logo, colorful block elements, and smaller translucent blocks. Once assembled, those should stand around 16 feet tall.

As for where they’ll go, that’s still a bit of a mystery. The lot’s three corners make the most sense, but so far, there’s no sign of footers.
Universal has ramped up marketing for Universal Kids Resort in the past few weeks. Based on that – and what we’re seeing on our daily visits – this park will soon be welcoming guests. We expect a grand opening announcement any day now, hopefully confirming a late May or early June debut.
