Universal Kids Resort Begins Mock Service Ahead of Team Member Previews
Earlier today, Universal Kids Resort released preview day tickets for June 24–29. But before those guests get their first look at the Frisco theme park, Universal is already putting the park through its paces. Mock service days began on Monday, allowing Team Members to practice operating the park with select guests before larger preview audiences arrive.
Mock service runs from June 8 through June 14. Despite having people in the park, these are not public previews. Think of them as a dress rehearsal where Team Members can work through real-world issues without the pressure of paying guests being in the park.
What is mock service?
The goal isn’t to provide a flawless guest experience. Park operations wants to find problems now, when they can still fix them, rather than on opening day. If a ride goes down, a restaurant has orders back up, or a procedure doesn’t work as intended, that’s valuable information.

From June 15–17, Universal will shift to Team Member previews. Those dates are reserved for Universal TMs and their friends and family. It’s the next step in the park’s gradual ramp-up to opening day.
After that, we expect media previews. Despite my best efforts, I haven’t received an invite. Universal PR has been great in all of my interactions, but I get the distinct feeling they haven’t always appreciated our coverage of the park’s construction over the past 30 months. But don’t worry about me. I’ll be there on the first day of public previews and again for the grand opening.
With mock service already underway and preview tickets now on sale, Universal Kids Resort is entering the final stretch before its July 1 debut.
