Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Will Use a Virtual Queue for a Short Time

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will use a virtual queue, but only in the short term. Disney expects to open the standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening. This is a pretty big departure for Disney, and it’s the right move. Guests willing to stand in line will be able to enjoy Tiana’a Bayou Adventure without the virtual queue stress. After all, virtual queues require you to stand in lines, anyway.

Initially, guests should log in to their My Disney Experience app at 7 AM or 1 PM to try for one of those coveted spots in line.

Also somewhat surprisingly, Tiana’s will be available as a Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction. It will not be included as an Individual Lightning Lane. This is welcome news for many guests, but it also means that competition for those Genie+ passes will be extremely high.

Like Splash Mountain, Tiana’s will provide great ride photos. Just before the final plunge, PhotoPass cameras will snap a shot of your joy or terror. Disney shared concept art for that photo:

The ride photo gives us a clue about the ride’s storyline. The 50-foot plunge is a shortcut guests will use to get to the party being thrown by Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and its virtual queue debuts June 28 in Magic Kingdom.
