Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Afro-Cuban Band Announced

Disney revealed the final group of musicians coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the Afro-Cuban band. These four frogs specialize in the earliest form of Latin jazz. Let’s meet the members.

Felipe the Frog, piano, leads this group of frogs. He also owns an exclusive bayou nightclub, a favorite hang for the local fireflies. I wonder if Ray is a regular.

Mayra the Frog plays the trumpet, but not on a traditional instrument. She’s been blowing solos on her flower blossom horn since she was a tadpole.

Mondo the Frog has been a conga drummer ever since his favorite bottle cap got stuck on his second-favorite acorn. Like a lot of drummers, Mondo is laid-back and cool.

Isabel the Green Tree Frog is the band’s second drummer. The youngest member of the group, Isabel lives for playing clave rhythms all night long.

Disney also offered a glimpse of the frogs’ Audio-Animatronics. If you haven’t already, watch the behind-the-scenes footage of Louis and the other characters being brought to life for Tiana’s.

So far we’ve learned about the Zydeco band and the Rara band. With this latest announcement, we know the 16 musicians featured on the ride (not counting Louis on trumpet). But Disney let us know that even more (non-musical) creatures will be included:

“Of course, not everyone you’ll meet in the attraction is a musician – among others are a couple of amphibious friends who love to sit back, relax, and catch up on all the gossip from around the bayou. Gloria and Delores the frogs are best friends who love to observe folks as they float in logs down the bayou. Don’t be surprised if they keep their watchful eyes on you as you float by.”

You’ll also be able to spot Lari the armadillo who has a habit of “borrowing” things that aren’t his.

You’ll be able to hear Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Afro-Cuban band when the ride debuts this summer at Walt Disney World and later this year in Disneyland.
