The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure Coming to Hollywood Studios

Disney has announced an all-new show for Hollywood Studios. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure is coming to the Animation Courtyard Theater, the previous home of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The theater has sat silent for the past four years.

Update: On October 14, 2024, Disney announced the show will be delayed until next summer.

“As we continue to look forward to “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we are taking the next steps and filing permits for an all-new marquee. Work on the exterior of the building will begin soon, in preparation for the premiere of this fully reimagined show in summer 2025. We look forward to sharing more details on this exciting new experience soon.”

Disney Live Entertainment is working on the story now. Construction has already begun inside the theater.

When it opens, the show will feature stunning new set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold new design that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her.

With the recent release of live-action The Little Mermaid, it makes sense that Disney would want to bring Ariel and her friends back to the parks. Reaction to this news on social media has been mixed at best, but Twitter/X users aren’t Disney’s target demographic. Kids are going to love this show.
