Test Track Construction Walls Come Down
Test Track’s construction walls came down last week. And that can mean only one thing: the construction walls are down. Those barricades were replaced by temporary hedges, affording people much clearer views of the ride’s new portico, entrance, and the gift shop’s updated signage. FYI, the Test Track SIMporium is now the Test Track Gear Shop.
The lack of construction walls leads us to believe that previews will begin soon. We expect Cast Members to get the first opportunity to scream around that track at 65 mph. Then Annual Passholders and DVC members should get their shot to be crash test dummies.
I kid. That was Test Track 1.0.
Last December, we learned that Test Track would return in late summer. Since then, Disney has shared details about the reimagined ride and its reskinned vehicles, all the while remaining silent about a reopening timeline. A Chevy representative did tell Mariann that construction was ahead of schedule. Last week’s wall removal seems to confirm that report. We’ve also heard from several sources who believe the ride will debut in mid-summer. I take that to mean July. Whatever the date, we’ll update our Test Track countdown clock as soon as Disney makes the announcement.
