Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Soft Opens at Hollywood Studios

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets has soft opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, two days ahead of its official debut. And unlike the soft opening for Soarin’ Across America, this one isn’t being advertised in the My Disney Experience app. So if you’re already in the park, quietly make your way to Sunset Boulevard before the wait time explodes.

Update (10:00 AM on May 25, 2026): Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is once again open to guests this morning. Keep in mind that soft openings can close at any time as Disney continues testing operations ahead of the attraction’s official debut. Thanks to Mariann Bell for sharing the news.

Update (8:40 PM on May 24, 2026): DVC previews have wrapped up, and the soft opening is back on. Better yet, it’s currently a walk-on. Unfortunately, Cast Members are cutting off the line at 9 PM, an hour before Hollywood Studios closes. Thanks to @CoasterK24 and @LWTL_Boat for the updates tonight.

Update (6:45 PM on May 24, 2026): It looks like Disney Vacation Club Members weren’t quite done with their previews. The soft opening has now closed to regular park guests. However, with previews wrapping up later this evening, a Memorial Day soft opening still feels very much in the cards.

Soft openings are common for Disney’s new and refurbished attractions. Over the past year, I can only think of one ride that didn’t welcome guests ahead of its official debut: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

And guess which one officially opened the day after our vacation. Yeah.

By all accounts, The Muppets’ takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has been smooth. Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club owners have been enjoying previews for over a week. Now that those are complete (and since no major issues cropped up), a soft opening was the next logical step.
