Piston Peak Ride to Feature Character Inspired by Classic Disney Shorts
Magic Kingdom’s upcoming Cars-themed land is set to introduce a familiar face with a new twist. J. Autobahn Woodlore is a park ranger in the land’s Piston Peak National Park. While technically a new character, he’s inspired by J. Audubon Woodlore, the Brownstone National Park ranger from Disney’s classic shorts.

J. Autobahn, a vintage pickup truck, can be seen in the lower right of Disney’s latest concept art. The character will greet guests in the queue of the headline off-road racing attraction. X’s Scott Gustin has insights on how he’ll be used:
“I was shown an early concept of the preshow. It features Ranger J. Autobahn standing on stage next to a map of Piston Peak while discussing Piston Peak folklore and why guests are racing. The animatronic is full-size – similar to the Tow Mater in Radiator Springs Racers.”
Disney shorts are pure greatness. Using them as inspiration for a new attraction is a brilliant move by Imagineers. You can watch the original J. Audubon Woodlore in Beezy Bear on Disney+.
