New Shoulder Banshees Coming to Pandora on November 21
If you’ve ever flown on Animal Kingdom’s Flight of Passage, you probably walked past a banshee rookery after exiting the ride. The rookery (found inside Windtraders) is filled with dozens of Pandora’s flying creatures just waiting to be adopted. Shoulder banshees have been a part of Pandora – The World of Avatar since the land opened in 2017, but the newer models are getting some nice upgrades. Disney just shared the details.
First, guests can use a wireless remote to control their banshee’s mouth, head, and wing movements, and even customize its sounds. The four new banshees will each have unique colors and patterns and will glow in the dark with bioluminescent effects. All of that is pretty amazing. But here’s what’s even cooler:
“Be warned: banshees can have a mind of their own, too! While traveling through Pandora and beyond, your banshee will notice and communicate with other interactive shoulder and wrist banshees that cross its path, making them more lifelike than ever. Your banshee will also react to being pet, so be sure to give them lots of attention.”
