Mickey and Minnie Mouse Getting New Looks for Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Disney Cruise ships will begin sailing to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in June of 2024. This beautiful island, named Eleuthera, has a unique style, so it’s only appropriate that Disney’s most famous couple gets a makeover to match. Disney enlisted the help of Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett to provide Mickey and Minnie with an all-new look for Lookout Cay.

Elyett has been designing since he was 13 years old. His Mickey and Minnie creations will honor his Bahamian heritage, specifically Junkanoo, the country’s signature festival.

“The beauty of Mickey and Minnie’s looks are that they are literally ‘Junkanoo Fun in the Sun. When you talk about the print, pattern, color, texture of Junkanoo, they’ve got that.”

Mickey and Minnie’s Lookout Cay outfits will pay tribute to Eleuthera, which is known for its pineapples and Raffia palm trees. Conch shells also served as inspiration. And the duo aren’t the only ones getting new duds. Elyett has also designed new looks for Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.

Elyett’s designs will be a part of a larger art collection created by local artists for Lookout Cay.
