Luke Skywalker, Nighttime Spectaculars, and More at Season of the Force

Luke Skywalker, Nighttime Spectaculars, and More at Season of the Force

“It’s true. The force, the Jedi, all of it.” Yep. Luke Skywalker is coming to Galaxy’s Edge. Well, at least the one on the west coast. Disney confirmed that the iconic character will be part of the 2025 Season of the Force in Disneyland.

“Joining other familiar encounters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, for the first time, a shadowy visitor will appear on Batuu for a limited time. Wearing what seem to be Jedi robes, there are rumors it might be the legendary Luke Skywalker!”

I love this. And I hope it leads to more timeline-busting characters roaming the streets of Black Spire Outpost. Who else wants Darth Vader in Batuu?

Nighttime Experiences

In addition to Luke, a new nighttime experience will also be unveiled. Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga is a nightly projection show that will take guests on a “storytelling adventure across the galaxy.” The spires will serve as the backdrop for “some of the greatest moments in galactic history.” Guests will be treated to John Williams’ iconic themes throughout the show.

Fire of the Rising Suns returns in 2025. The fireworks show will run on select nights and can be enjoyed from multiple spots in Galaxy’s Edge, including the Black Spire Spaceport, the TIE Echelon docking platform, and the speeder garage. Oh, and it also features Star Wars music.

“Why isn’t Season of the Force coming to Hollywood Studios, too?”

Me

Hyperspace Mountain

Space Mountain is getting a familiar overlay with Hyperspace Mountain. Riders will “fend off crossfire from swarms of Rebel X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters amidst an intergalactic onslaught!” I live for Space Mountain overlays.

So everything we’ve seen so far is pretty great. But Disney took it to another level with the Darth Vader Premium Mug. This collectible will be on eBay soon. After all, Disney is allowing guests to purchase 10 of these at a time. Seems reasonable.

Here’s all the food and food-related merch coming to Season of the Force.
