Guests Can Search Multiple Days for Disney Dining Reservations
Last week, Disney announced several dining-related improvements for their websites and apps. Today, my favorite update went live. Guests can now search multiple days when making dining reservations. This new feature is going to make those early-morning dining dashes a lot less stressful.
Multiple-day searches in the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps
Single-day searches are still the default, so getting to the multiple-day search tools requires an extra step.
- Tap the plus (+) icon at the center bottom of the app and choose “Check Dining Availability.”
- On the next screen, fill in your party size, ideal date, and time.
- Scroll to your desired restaurant. If you find a reservation that suits your needs, congrats! Book that table quickly.
- If you don’t love the available times, tap “Check Availability for Multiple Days.”
- The next screen will once again show a calendar, but this time you’ll be able to select a date range.
There is a flaw with the above search flow. What if your restaurant isn’t available on your desired date? You won’t see that restaurant listed, which means you can’t access the multi-day search tool. Here’s what you do.
- Tap the app’s search icon just to the right of the plus (+) at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter the name of the restaurant.
- Tap “Reserve Dining”.
- Select your party and date range.
Multiple-day searches on the website
The user experience on the website is identical to what you’ll find on the apps. Kudos to Disney for rolling out some beautiful updates to these tools.
But once again, restaurants without availability won’t show up in the list. Use the site’s search tools to find your desired restaurant to access the multi-day search tools.
Disney could make the dining search even better
This is a much-needed and much-appreciated update. I do think that one more tweak is needed, however. Every table-service restaurant should be included in the search list, regardless of availability. After all, that’s when the multi-day search tool is needed the most. I comped a solution to the problem.
