Drone Show Coming to Disney Springs

Drone Show Coming to Disney Springs

A few months ago, Disney announced a drone show would be coming to Disney Springs. Today they shared details, photos, and a video of “Disney Dreams That Soar presented by AT&T.” The show debuts May 24 at the entertainment and shopping district.

“We are presenting Disney characters who have had a dream of flying. Not just the idea that they can fly, but the idea of taking their lives to the next level. We put a lot of thought in making sure that no matter how old you are, or how much of a fan you are, you’re going to see a character that you love.”

Tony Giordano, Disney Dreams That Soar Show Director

Over 800 drones will take to the sky to present larger-than-life Disney characters. That’s not hyperbole. Baymax will be twice as tall as Spaceship Earth. The character will “inflate, transform, and disappear right in front of your eyes.” Other characters include Peter Pan, Wall-E, Eve, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, the Up House, the Death Star, the Rocketeer, and Grogu.

The show’s soundtrack will feature music from your favorite Disney scores and an original song that will “inspire you to follow your heart, take a leap of faith, and reach for the stars.”

Disney recommends viewing Disney Dreams That Soar along the Disney Springs West Side waterway. The show will be presented each night at 9 and 10:45 PM. As expected, the drones won’t fly in bad weather, so check for storms before making plans.

I hope this Disney Springs show is a test balloon for bringing drones to the parks. Disneyland Paris has them. Walt Disney World should, too.

Guests can view the Disney Springs drone show through September 2, 2024. Yeah, I call it the drone show. Disney names are just too long sometimes.
