Disney Live Entertainment Permit May Hint at Bluey Plans for Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World filed a Notice of Commencement permit today for work at Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. At first glance, it looks like routine electrical maintenance. But there’s one clue that made me open the editor: the permit was prepared by Disney Live Entertainment.
They’re not usually listed on basic upkeep permits. Combine that with the upcoming Bluey character experience, and my interest was piqued.
The permit tasks Maddox Electric Company LLC with the following:
Install new transformer, disconnect 200A panel, and 100A relay panel for future panel in EER room.
In short, Maddox is making some pretty significant power upgrades to the Conservation Station. So why now? When Disney announced Bluey’s upcoming arrival, they described something more than a standard character encounter:
“Beginning in summer 2026 at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll be able to take a fun excursion to Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, where you can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo! Play some of your favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy.”
That doesn’t sound like a typical backdrop-and-photo-op encounter. Instead, it reads as an interactive play experience including movement, music, and games. If guests are meant to “play and dance” with Bluey and Bingo, Conservation Station might soon be home to a live entertainment venue.
That kind of setup typically requires audio/visual systems, synchronized lighting, projectors and/or screens, and control equipment. All of that needs reliable power and is the sort of thing that’s in Disney Live Entertainment’s wheelhouse.
To be clear, Disney hasn’t said this permit is tied directly to Bluey, and nothing here confirms the exact scope of the experience. This is all speculation. But the combination of Disney Live Entertainment, electrical upgrades, and a Bluey encounter suggests Conservation Station is getting something more complex and permanent than a simple meet-and-greet.
