Disney Cruise Line Reduces Booking Deposits, Cancellation Fees

Starting today (June 18, 2025), Disney Cruise Line has reduced its required booking deposit from 20% to 10%. The deposit is calculated based on the cruise cost before taxes and fees are applied. If you booked your cruise on or before June 17, 2025, your deposit remains 20%. Unfortunately, this isn’t a retroactive benefit.

Disney also updated their cancellation policy to align with the deposit paid. Simply put, if you cancel your cruise during the deposit cancellation fee period, that fee will match the deposit paid. Deposits remain non-refundable for concierge bookings.

Travelers who paid 20% and are outside their deposit cancellation fee period may cancel and rebook to take advantage of the new policy.

Finally, guests who book a 7-night or longer Placeholder Reservation will pay a 5% deposit. Again, the cancellation fee will match the deposit paid if cancelled outside the deposit cancellation fee period. There’s also no longer a three-day hold when converting Onboard Placeholder Offers through the Contact Center or when booking online.
