Disney Adventure Moves to Meyer Werft Harbor

The Disney Adventure has left the comforts of its Meyer Werft hall in Wismar, Germany. Yesterday, a tugboat guided the massive ship to its new home in the shipyard’s harbor. Captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, and a crowd of spectators were on hand to mark the occasion.

While this is a significant milestone in any build, there’s still work to be done. The Adventure will soon receive its funnels and lifeboats. Even more exciting, crews are set to install Marvel Landing’s Groot Galaxy Spin and Ironcycle Test Run.

Unlike its predecessors, Disney didn’t design the Disney Adventure (at least at first). Instead, the company purchased the unfinished ship from Genting Hong Kong when that company went bankrupt. Imagineers have done a beautiful job making the ship “Disney,” but there will be clues that the Adventure is a one-of-a-kind DCL vessel. It’s the only one with an Adventure Garden, a rollercoaster, and four funnels.
