D23 Gold Members Can Watch The Muppet Show Special a Day Early
The Muppet Show turns 50 in 2026, and Disney is celebrating the only way that really makes sense: by putting Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, and the rest back on stage for a special event broadcast. The special stars Sabrina Carpenter, Maya Rudolph, and Seth Rogen, who also serves as executive producer. It premieres February 4 on Disney+ and ABC.
D23 Gold Members won’t have to wait that long to enjoy that Muppet greatness. The special streams one day early inside the D23 Gold Theater. No, you don’t have to put on nice pants. The Gold Theater is 100% virtual. Here are the details.

Tuesday, February 3, 2026
9:00 PM Eastern / 6:00 PM Pacific
If you miss this one, The Muppet Show officially premieres on February 4 at 3:00 AM Eastern / 12:00 AM Pacific on Disney+. It airs later that day on ABC at 9:00 PM Eastern and Pacific.

The D23 Gold Theater. They even have a countdown clock. We’re big fans of countdown clocks around here.
Eligibility
You need to be a D23 Gold Member. Disney is serious about that one. Here’s what they say about others joining in:
“You agree that no other person who is not a D23 Gold Member will participate in, or be present during, the virtual event on February 3.”
That’s harsh, but it’s probably aimed at the live chat feature that runs alongside the stream. I won’t be using that anyway. The Muppets require my full, undivided attention.
Technical notes
Disney recommends using the latest version of Google Chrome (or Safari for iPhone and iPad users). Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, and Amazon Silk browsers are not supported. Are we really still talking about Internet Explorer?
