Country Bear Musical Jamboree Costumes Revealed

The Sun Bonnets (Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah) received new costumes for the Country Bear Musical Jamboree opening this summer in Magic Kingdom. The young bears’ trademark bonnets and nightgowns have been replaced with pink and white cowgirl hats, ruffled blouses and skirts, and sequined vests and cuffs.
Disney shared a backstage look at the new Audio-Animatronics and their updated outfits.
Dressing animatronics is not as simple as putting clothes on a teddy bear. These characters are constantly moving. Their attire needs to hold up to their never-ending show schedule. Sara Landesburg, an Audio-Animatronic Costumer with Disney Live Entertainment, explains that the girls “have lots of repetitive movement, so a lot of times we’ll add gussets or additional pockets of fabric to give them more room to move in those repetitive movements without destroying the costume.”

Country Bear Musical Jamboree replaces Country Bear Jamboree, which closed in late January. The previous show was a cult favorite, but it featured outdated animatronics and songs with cringe-inducing lyrics. The update will have the bears singing “new, reinterpreted Disney tunes in different genres of country music.”
