Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Returns April 8 with New Ride Photo
Zurg’s vacation is over. Disney just announced that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will return to Magic Kingdom on April 8. When it does, the attraction will debut several upgrades, including new handheld blasters, improved targets, and a limitless high score.
The refresh also brings something new for your post-ride bragging rights. Space Rangers will now get an on-ride photo displaying their score and rank. Disney PhotoPass shared the news on social media:

I’m not sure I like that.
I enjoy sharing goofy ride photos, but broadcasting to friends and family that I completely whiffed my mission isn’t exactly my idea of a good time. That leaves me with a few options:
- Ride over and over until I’m good enough to post a respectable score.
- Intentionally tank and aim for the worst stats imaginable.
- Open Photoshop and adjust the numbers.
But seriously, this is a great move by Disney. Uber-competitive Space Rangers will finally have visual proof of their dominance, while the rest of us get personalized participation trophies.
