Behind the Scenes: Imagineers Reveal More About the Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge

Yesterday, Disney Imagineers offered a glimpse inside Test Track’s reimagining. Today, they took us behind the construction walls for a peek at the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge coming to Magic Kingdom. Imagineer Monste Garmilla also confirmed some details about the new space.

First announced at the Destination D23 last summer, the lounge’s bar will be home to the Barker Bird. The bird, once stationed outside Pirates of the Caribbean to attract guests, was removed in 2006.

Garmilla also confirmed that a second space, the Captain’s Quarters, is coming to the lounge. There, guests can relax and enjoy their drinks and bites. Without the Barker Bird, this may be the quieter of the two rooms.

The Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern opens in late 2025.
