Banana Ball Is Coming to Walt Disney World in 2026

Banana Ball is coming to Walt Disney World! The Loco Beach Coconuts, a new team in the freshly minted Banana Ball Championship League (BBCL), will take on the Party Animals at ESPN Wide World of Sports on May 29 and 30, 2026.

Made famous by the Savannah Bananas, Banana Ball has exploded in popularity, with games routinely selling out venues far larger than the 9,500-seat WWOS Stadium. Because of that demand, fans hoping to catch a game at Disney World will need to enter a ticket lottery. Tickets start at $35.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the lottery closes on November 1, but Fans First Tickets lists October 31 as the deadline. To play it safe, sign up by Halloween. You can do that here. Joining the lottery doesn’t guarantee tickets, unfortunately.

What is Banana Ball?

Do you like baseball but hate 3-hour games? Do you want your favorite players to dance? What about letting them steal first base? Then you might love Banana Ball. It’s much faster-paced than Major League Baseball, as you can tell by the rules:

The games are short. A new inning can’t start after 2 hours.
Teams are awarded one point for each inning they win. That’s the rule until the last inning, when every run counts.
Batters can steal first base. Yep!
There is no bunting.
Batters have to stay in the batter’s box. Step out and it’s a strike.
Walks are handled a little differently. If the pitcher throws four balls, the batter will take off in a sprint. Each defensive player (other than the pitcher and catcher) has to touch the ball before they can tag the runner.
No mound visits. I love this one.
Fans can make outs by catching foul balls.
There are no ties. Instead, there’s a showdown tiebreaker. Describing it would take a while. Just know that traditionalists might not love the creativity that goes into Banana Ball’s extra innings. But I sure do.
Challenges are allowed. Even by the fans.
