Bakso Makes Maharajah Jungle Trek Debut
Bakso is ready for visitors! The Sumatran tiger cub joined his mother, Sohni, on the Maharajah Jungle Trek earlier today. As you’d expect, this was a big moment for the young cub. BlogMickey reported that while Bakso did some exploring, he didn’t stray far from his mother or the backstage exit. Keepers will allow the young cub to decide when he wants to venture out into his new habitat.
Bakso’s Maharajah debut is welcome news, and not just for those of us who love Animal Kingdom’s babies. There are less than 600 Sumatran tigers left in the world.
“Bakso is a beacon of hope for this dwindling species and represents incredible efforts made in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Species Survival Plan (SSP) to bolster endangered and threatened species populations in managed care.”

Cast Members were emotional as Bakso joined his mom on the Maharajah Jungle Trek.
