Timu the Black Rhino Arrives at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A new black rhino has moved into the Harambe Wildlife Preserve at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team announced Timu’s arrival on social media earlier today.

“Keep an eye out for Timu! Our newest eastern black rhino is here, and you might catch her out on Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.”

The thing that jumps out at me is this beautiful girl’s massive horns. Typically, a rhino’s back horn is smaller than the front. But that doesn’t appear to be the case with Timu, whose chunky second horn is… substantial. Females usually have thinner horns than males, too. Apparently, Timu didn’t get the memo.

I can’t wait to meet her in December.
