Dr. Mark Penning’s Disney Instagram Account Has a New Name
With Dr. Mark Penning set to leave the Disney World bubble to become Director of the North Carolina Zoo, a social media name change was needed. Dr. Mark (as he’s known on Instagram) is Disney’s outgoing Vice President of Animals, Science, and Environment. For years, he’s also been the face of Disney animal news on the platform.
The only issue? His handle referenced his name: @drmarkatdisney. With Penning moving on, Disney has rebranded the account as @animalsatdisney. All 1,000+ posts made the transition, along with the account’s 85,000+ followers. Better yet, all of the embedded photos and reels we’ve used in articles over the years still work.
