2024 D23 Fan Expo Program

Disney has released the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event program. This will be a tiring three days for anyone hoping to take it all in. Good luck to all who try. But fans are most interested in Disney Experiences news. This year’s presentation — Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase — takes place on Saturday, August 10 at the Honda Center. Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, will host. He has promised fans will learn more about upcoming park projects during his presentation. Lord help him if he mentions “blue sky.”

Josh D’Amaro will welcome fans as he takes the stage with surprise stars and special guests for a live celebration of the music and creativity that power our stories and — of course — news and updates about projects in development around the world. The future is bright for Disney Experiences and this can’t-miss showcase will show fans what’s on the horizon and beyond.

Fans will be most interested to learn about the Beyond Big Thunder project and Dinoland U.S.A.’s replacement. Both have been teased at past D23 events. We’re all hoping that we get more concrete info on the projects at this event.

Other D23 highlights

This year’s D23 expo has plenty of love for Disney Imagineering. The “Imagineering: Behind the Dreams” pavilion will include interactive demos, design models, prototypes, and presentations. Disney promises fans will “get a first-hand view of the innovative and immersive storytelling that will fuel the growth of Disney’s parks, resorts, cruise ships, and other experiences for decades to come.”

Imagineers and Walt Disney Animators will present “Bringing the Worlds of Disney Animation to Life in Disney Parks.” This discussion will focus on projects like World of Frozen (Hong Kong Disneyland), Zootopia (Shanghai Disneyland), Fantasy Springs (Tokyo DisneySea), and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Magic Kingdom and Disneyland).

As always, the Disney Legends Awards program will be one of D23’s highlights. This year’s honorees list is impressive. John Williams, Jamie Lee Curtis, Joe Rohde, and everyone else are true greatness.

Marvel fans will love this one:

“Fans will get to enter the TVA through an immersive walkthrough experience and see pivotal moments recreated from the MCU as well as what lies ahead.”
